ਸੰਨ 1995 ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹਿ ਹੇਠ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਜਸਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲੜਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਵਾ ਕਰ, ਤਸੀਹੇ ਦੇ-ਦੇ ਕੇ ਜਾਨੋਂ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਸੂਰ ਨਿਰਾ ਏਨਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਧਿੰਗੋਜ਼ੋਰੀ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਤਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਦੇਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਚੋਰੀ-ਛਿਪੇ ਸਾੜਨਾ ਬੇਪਰਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫ਼ੈਸੀਨੇਟਿੰਗ ਫ਼ੋਕਟੇਲਜ਼ ਆਫ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਜਸਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਡਿੱਠੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪਾਠਕਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਸ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਸਚਿੱਤਰ ਸੰਜੋਈ ਏ। ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਲੇ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਰੇ ਇਸ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਜ਼ਿਮੀ ਪਤਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
